About John Botting

I have had a huge variety in my working life. Started in retail after leaving school, moved into retail management, then into field sales all with-in a 4 year period from leaving school (1979). Stayed in B2B field sales for several years before moving into financial sales for another couple of years. Got fed up with that and decided to join the Police at the age of 29. Had an enjoyable time doing that in London and did several specialisations including becoming a training officer.

After 7 years in the police I was offered a role by a large financial services group as a regional recruitment manager, so I decided to leave the police and join them. I enjoyed running recruitment seminar and assessment centres for sale people and managers. Things started to down turn and I could see the writing on the wall so decided to start to look for something else. I took a huge gamble and bought a franchise. Luckily for me that was successful. I had some personal things happening in 2002 so decided to sell up. I did that in 2003 and moved out to Thailand to live and work.

I initially bought a small car rent business and that kept me going for 18 months. I then went into partnership and bought a monthly property magazine. Developed that and also a Multiple Listing Website to compliment the magazine. That was successful and I eventually bought out my partners.

During this period I also got involved with Rotary, and joined an English speaking club and ended up being President 2007- 2008.

Late 2007 I was diagnosed with colon cancer and had an operation. Whilst in hospital I caught an infection which nearly killed me (on top of the cancer), and at one stage in November 2007 was given 3 days to live.

Well, luckily I pulled through that after being on life support for 6 weeks and spent 11 weeks in hospital. I then underwent chemotherapy.

After all that I sold up in Thailand and returned to the UK, with double the money I went out there with.I returned home on 8/7/08.

In August 2008 got given the all clear with cancer (huge sigh of relief), now its on with my life. In August I also entered into a civil partnership with Thip, who is from Laos and has been a huge support for me whilst I was ill and in hospital. We now live happily together in the UK where he now has residency.

My interests where always with politics before I left the UK. I was a candidate in the 2002 general elections and also on many parish elections, but never won!!! Since coming back I have re-kindled that passion and have rejoined the UKIP again.

About No Letting Go

Property Inventories by Inventory Specialists

Your property is your most valuable asset, so it pays to protect it. No Letting Go is the UK's first national property inventories management company providing a comprehensive range of services to preserve the valuable property assets of landlords and letting agents.

Our services include the compilation of bespoke property inventories and schedule of condition & contents reports for a rented property; the professional checking in and out of tenants at the commencement and cessation of a residential rental agreement and interim visits to assess the condition of the property during the term of a tenant's occupancy.

Inventory Management & Industry Demand

No Letting Go was set up in direct response to the growing need for a reliable national inventory management brand that landlords and letting agents could really depend upon. We aim to deliver a service with unsurpassed professionalism combined with a consistent and exceptional standard of excellence. The amendments made to the Housing Act on 6 April 2007 triggered a further demand for companies capable of delivering a truly independent inventory management service. Under the revised terms of the act, all deposits taken by landlords for Assured Shorthold Tenancies must be protected by a tenancy deposit protection scheme. This means that from the outset of any rental agreement, tenants and landlords are both strongly advised to have in place, a clear, fair and detailed inventory of the contents and condition of the property being rented. This document can be used to validate whether or not a tenant is entitled to a full or partial return of a deposit. Employing the services of a professionally trained independent inventory company to undertake this role avoids the risk of biased or misinformed reporting and will increasingly be regarded within the industry as best practice.

Why choose No Letting Go?

Quite simply we know our business. We're setting new standards within the inventory management industry sector. As the only national brand in the market, we're destined to become the industry's natural spokesperson.

We know how long a professional inventory really takes. We understand the importance of a commitment to meticulous detail to protect both landlord and tenant. We appreciate the need for consistently fair and accurate reporting, as well as tact and diplomacy.

Best people for the best job

Because we demand such taxing high standards from our people, we operate a stringent and exclusive recruitment process. Our teams are carefully selected to ensure we consistently appoint high calibre, proficient personnel representative of our quality client base. All of our Inventory Clerks are required to attend the No Letting Go comprehensive in-house training programme designed to equip them with the required in-depth understanding of both the lettings and property inventory sectors. This training is followed up with practical hands-on shadowing of a qualified and experienced No Letting Go agent in the field to gain further experience and direct mentoring.

The training

The No Letting Go inventory management training is the most comprehensive in the market today. Our training not only focuses on the delivery and management of the condition of a property prior, during and after a tenancy, but also on a wider understanding of the lettings business, so relevant to the role. This includes knowledge of tenancy deposit schemes, legal requirements, tenancies agreements, landlord and tenant obligations and much more. To ensure our high standards are maintained, it is crucial that our clerks and the business owners understand all aspects of the lettings procedure ensuring we continue to offer the very best in the market place.
